What is the Dragon Boat Festival？

Dragon Boat Festival！

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu Festival, falls on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. This festival is to commemorate the death of QU Yuan, an upright and honest poet and statesman who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in Miluo river.

For thousands of years, this festival has been marked by eating zongzi and racing dragon boats. What’s more, hanging herbs on the front door and windows, drinking realgar wine, and dressing in new costume etc. Surely, similar yet different customs and traditions exist in different regions of China. And they have been changed a little in recent years, but they still make contribution to the spread and inheritance of Chinese culture. 

Hitronics’ vacation of Dragon Boat Festival is from June 8 to June 10, 2024. With the festival approaching, the staff also received the gift of zongzi from company.
